Hop movie why pg

I saw the cute bunny on the cover of this and didn't bother checking the reviews first. Wow, I will never do that again! I'm sad now that my kids were exposed to this. There are so many levels on which this is a bad movie for kids I don't even know where to begin. If your child is older than about four, you may be asked what a playboy mansion is and what 'sexy' means, and you need to think of how you will answer that before you watch this movie!

There are many other scenes as well. The older sister finds the talking bunny and he pretends to be a toy. Then he secretly starts touching and smelling her hair, while she is oblivious, in a sexy way. After that scene the bunny asks the guy if she is going out with anybody and he replies that she is single and looking for bunny's. I could go on.. First of all the bunny runs away from a good loving home right when his dad needs him most.

At the dinner table the youngest daughter says, referring about her oldest brother, something to this affect "maybe that's why you adopted me because he was such a disappointment " This might be funny to adults but I cringed in my seat when we watched this hoping the kids blanked out or something. The analogy is almost identical, with the beginning of the film showing a huge chocolate factory and then a magic ship to deliver all the sweets.

With multiple references about having to 'believe' in the Easter bunny. If you find it difficult to keep up with the questions about Santa, this movie might just make it a whole lot worse It glorifies sweets. In fact, it appears that that is what Easter is all about!

Even the song in the rolling credits of the movie repeats repetitively "we love candy! While racing, crashing cars might be questionable. In this movie you will see dozens of giant razer blades threatening to slice the bunny in multiple ways, spinning around while the bunny frantically tries to avoid them.

While the movie pushes the idea of following your dream to the point of running away from home questionable even on this point , it ends with the bunny being able to play drums on stage which was his real passion as well as being the Easter bunny.

How realistic is that and what the heck does that even mean? Helped me decide 1. Had useful details 1. Adult Written by Tristenkl February 20, A chick asks another chick how his backside looks and the chick replies, "That's a wonderful butt. A woman wears a low-cut T-shirt that reveals cleavage. Several women wear low-cut tops and dresses that reveal cleavage, bare backs and shoulders. Parent of a 4-year-old Written by AngelChild April 21, Racism People seem to disregard that the adult humor is to keep the parents amused whike the oblivious child enjoys the movie and they really need to stop being overdramatic about it's slight playboy rfernces.

The problem really is the racism. That your work doesn't matter unless you were born the right color and shape. The demonization of Hispanic people who want to go further than underappreciated assistant labourers.

That they need to learn there place. Had useful details. Adult Written by Jaysus April 30, Not the behavior I want my kids emulating Am I the only one who wanted to grab the rabbit by the ears and stick him in a corner until he finally learned the slightest ounce of discipline? My wife actually walked away from the movie, frustrated that kids in America are watching this movie and likely wanting to emulate this juvenile, irresponsible and disrespectful character. I thought this was a very cute movie. If you're at all like me, you'll enjoy it, though you won't love it. I really didn't expect to like it -- I can't stand the saccharine sweetness of so many kids' holiday movies, but Hop had a refreshing slight edginess to it that made it more palatable.

It has plenty of jokes that no kid is going to get, but that will make the adults they're with laugh. From a sly but totally benign reference to a well-known Los Angeles residence to the appearance and hysterical self-parody of a celebrity most noted for TV shows in the '80s and '90s, it may provide you with a few things slightly tough to explain to your kids, but they're amusing enough you won't care. It's rated PG -- anything I should be concerned about for my little kids?

There are a few tense moments, but nothing worse than you'll find in any Disney film. A character is body slammed, hit with a scepter and tossed to the ground. Sexual Content: A character suggests he should get into the Playboy Mansion because he is a "sexy bunny".

An animal character flirts with a human female. Language: A character makes brief, veiled suggestive comments. Another character comments about the look of his buttocks. Some other rude bathroom humor includes comments about excrement. Why does he resort to this behavior? Do parents and their children ever use this tactic to get what they want from one another?

In what situations do they employ it? How are parents portrayed in this film? What responsibilities are Fred and E. How is the villain depicted in this story? Does giving the character a foreign accent make him seem more evil? What other stereotypes are used to distinguish a bad guy in a movie? What is your favorite Easter treat?

Mr N Super Reviewer. Mar 11, Good movie for kids, I think Russell Brand should permanently move to voice acting. That being said this movie has juvenile humor for juveniles, not for adults. Sanjay R Super Reviewer. Aug 19, Cynthia S Super Reviewer. Jul 29, I haven't had any real desire to ever watch this, as I thought it looked pretty weak. But, I get dvd's for free and had Grant to myself Saturday so I popped it in and found myself with a kid movie I really enjoyed.

Long story short the Easter Bunny is about to retire and he wants his son E. Russell Brand to take over, but he doesn't want the job. See, total kids movie, but it is very funny. Russell Brand is absolutely perfect as E. I always find him either hilarious or annoying, and here he is hilarious. He has some great lines that adults will get, while never crossing the line for kids. Just goes to show, some movies can surprise ya for the better sometimes.
