What if apple made a console
Not to mention that it will have last gen graphics with really low framerates with a sleek exterior. It would cost thousands of dollars and the interface will be a bunch of shiny icons, that doesn't actually do anything. Holy shit. Could you imagine if Apple had invented the Wii instead of Nintendo. Absolutely not! The only way Apple could get into the actual gaming market app store doesn't count is to partner up with Nintendo.
Every year we would get a new slightly upgraded console from apple It's revolutionary, I could see an advertisement for the system. Two prick wearing turtle necks, with their game faces on. The elusive would he Cake Mania and iMobsters. And no, I wouldn't buy it. And I would slap any of my acquaintances for buying one. It sucked. Last edited: Mar 8, Charizard Champion 06 Spiral Warrior. If Apple made a new console I can picture the controller being something with all round edges and one button.
Similar to the iBlewUpTheMoon. They'd pretty much fail to outdo the other companies and then they'd bail ripping off people who seriously expected anything good from the system. That's how I see it. Heck they'd probably just put a bunch of "casual fodder" games on the system, and that'd be it. Mariya Shidou Banned. Apple's console would cost thousands upon thousands of dollars and have bland functionality that could be supplanted by other machines, but it would look really pretty and all the hipsters would buy it.
It would also be advertised by commercials using crappy hipster songs with little to no explanation of what it can actually do. And no, they shouldn't make a system. Chris said:. The Apple TV already has the ability to stream media from other computers in your household, and also to make purchases from the iTunes store directly from the device.
Now, imagine if they came along later and add the ability to play app games from the Apple TV. True, still not exactly a console, but it is a step in the right direction by adding value to a device that has struggled to find a large customer base.
That customer base could be grown significantly by the addition of app games, possibly with even the ability to move scores and such and back-and-forth between devices. The final step would be the addition of traditional console games, and this is where Apple could be a literal game changer. They could quite possibly bypass the entire physical media aspect of selling games, and go strictly to a download service where you purchase them through the iTunes Store.
This is probably the way we will eventually move with games anyway, and it is a formula that Apple has already mastered in many ways. There is already evidence that it cannot as demonstrated by the death of the Sega Dreamcast that drove the company completely out of building consoles.
However, this is Apple we are talking about here. I think you get the point, but there are a lot more examples of this. Many are not AAA titles, granted, but they are still very good games in their own right. The Switch has incredibly strong first party games, of course, but a huge plus point of the Switch is also its massive library of indie titles. Many of these came from Apple Arcade. There are some fantatic examples of big studios making some truly original games for the platform, such as Devolver, Konami, and Sega.
Mistwalker, a company made up of ex-Final Fantasy developers, also created the stunning Fantasian, a spiritual successor to the Final Fantasty franchise. Hopefully we can agree that Apple Arcade features some impressive titles, but what about elsewhere on the App Store? Can Apple devices really compete with consoles outside of that environment? The list really does go on and on.
Well, wrong on that fron too actually.
